Russell Bradley, General Manager/Co-Owner

Russell Bradley, General Manager/Co-Owner

Russell is originally from the Te Anau area and has spent the last 35 years working in earthmoving and road construction and maintenance. He worked on the Te Anau - Milford Sound Alpine Highway for 11 years and also worked in Australia for a few years in mining and general earthmoving.

Russell joined Linton Contracting in 2003, and he handles the outside operations, which means he is out in the field managing the crews. He likes that every day is different and the variety of jobs and locations. Plus, he says, he meets some really, really good people along the way.

Russell and his partner Michelle have been an item since 2001. In his free time, he enjoys, sea fishing, boating and hunting.

Peter Morgan - Contracts Manager/Co-Owner

Contracts Manager/Co-Owner

Peter joined Linton Contracting in 2011, and is the partner responsible for managing the company’s contractual obligations. He also provides technical support for the company's push into non-traditional fields. Peter has been involved in construction since 1983, where he worked as a chainman on the Milford Road. His start in the aggregate industry began in 1996, when he was appointed as a manager at SouthRoads in the aggregates arm of the business. Peter was President of the Institute of Quarrying New Zealand 2017 - 2019 and remains on the Executive Board.

He enjoys the daily challenges of his job and meeting interesting people along the way.

When he's not at work, Peter likes to tinker in the garage at home, race grass karts and spend time at Manapouri with Margie, friends and family.

Margie Morgan - Office Manager

Margie Morgan - Office Manager

Margie is a born and bred local from Winton. She has been the Office Manager at Linton Contracting since 2011. Her varied background includes completing a New Zealand Diploma in Business (Accounting) qualification, administration roles in transport, timber, forestry, roofing and construction. She was also the local Secretary for the New Zealand Contractors Federation from 2010 until 2014.

Margie enjoys the diversity of her job from start to finish. She manages all the paperwork, data entry, job costing, reconcilations, accounts payable, accounts receivable, website design, marketing and advertising along with making sure everything runs smoothly.

Margie's philosophy is to ensure a great Work Life Balance. When she's not trying to keep the guys at work in line, you'll find her busy running around after her two daughters, but still finds the time to enjoy time away with Peter at Manapouri, doing a bit of home decorating, gardening, indulging in good food, good wine and hanging out with friends and family. 

Tony Bruce

Tony Bruce

Tony and his partner Therese shifted to Invercargill 7 years ago from Omakau, Tony did his schooling in Invercargill and was away for about 30 years and found on his return that the people were still the same down to earth good buggers as when he left, only big change for him was that Old Boys, his old rugby club, had amalgamated with Pirates.

Tony says that Invercargill suits him and Therese as they can take advantage of the direct flights to Auckland to see their Daughter, Son in law and granddaughter also Invercargill is close to Central Otago where they lived previously, and they spend a lot of time that way with friends and family.

Therese is from Ireland and as soon as the Covid allows they plan to head back over to see her family.

Tony started his civil career in Dunedin in 1993 in a sealing crew and has 26 years of contracting experience in Transport, Surfacing, Drainage, Earthworks, Sub Division Construction and large Project work.

In his spare time Tony enjoys rugby, a cold beer, Horse Racing ( Gallops ), Boating, Hunting and fishing and in that regard, takes advantage of what Central Otago and Southland has on offer.

Shelley Jardine - Administration

Shelley Jardine - Administration

Shelley is a long time resident of Winton and is married to Grant. They have 2 girls, Taylah & Brenna.

Shelley has customer service and adminstration experience in retail, banking, hospitality and the timber industry.

Shelley manages data entry, reconcilations, accounts payable, and assists Margie with making sure everything runs smoothly.

In her spare time she enjoys bowls & golf and not to mention a couple of cheeky wines.



 

Stu Davie - Supervisor/ Machine Operator

Stu Davie - Supervisor/ Machine Operator

Stu is married to Shona and have 4 adult children and 4 grandchildren – Stu came from a farming background and has been involved in earthmoving pretty much all of his life – Stu and Shona had their our own business installing water schemes and cable laying for about 20 years including installation and refurbishment of a number of district water schemes in Otago and Southland. After they sold the business in 2013, Stu worked for a couple of mining companies before finding his way to Lintons – twice !! Stu says he enjoys working with the team at Lintons and the challenge of solving the unexpected problems construction jobs can throw up. The weekends finds him working on lifestyle block and enjoying time with family.

Bjorn Graham - Machine Operator

Bjorn Graham - Machine Operator

Bjorn's background was in the building industry for 12 years, building everything from hospitals to dairy sheds and houses.

Joing the team at Linton Contracting in June 2014, Bjorn discovered a new passion for operating heavy machinery.  In particular Bjorn enjoys the concept of quarrying and has recently completed the "B" Grade Managers Certificate and is working towards completing his "A" Grade Managers Certificate.

Out of work hours when Bjorn is not hunting or fishing, his wife, two young daughters and son keep him busy.

Mitch Dixon - Machine Operator

Mitch Dixon - Machine Operator

Mitch left school to pursue and gain a building trade, but is not unfamiliar with the civil contracting industry.

Mitch has always been intrigued with earthworks construction, and as a child he grew up studying his Grandfathers earthworks business, Tuku Contracting based in Takaka Golden Bay.

In Aug 2017 an opportunity arose at Linton Contracting Ltd as a "Trainee Operator",  after a few short months on heavy machinery Mitch proved  that he was capable of alot more and was put on the Terex Motor Scraper,

and from there has worked his way through to now operating the 30 tonne Volvo excavator decked out with the latest GPS system and overseeing job sites.

Mitch enjoys working for Lintons as he says they are a progressive company adding new technology in the form of 2D and 3D GPS systems to their machines, which makes for a more efficient and productive environment. They are also a good crowd to get on with.

Mitch also has experience in operating various heavy machinery in the Forestry Operations Industry.

In his spare time Mitch enjoys hanging out with his partner Sophie and their sons and enjoys riding motorbikes on his weekends off.  

 

Peter Barlow - Machine Operator

Peter Barlow - Machine Operator

Peter has been with Linton's since Jan 2005.  Peter is a Heavy Machine / Dozer Operator.

Peter specializes in the operation of dump trucks and bulldozers.

Due to his vast experience on dump trucks, Peter currently trains new dump truck operators as required.

Peter operates a 16 tonne Case 1150 dozer. This has the latest 3D technology installed to which he has mastered to a high level. 

In his spare time Peter likes hunting, collecting antiques and making rustic wooden furniture.

 

Dave Hodges - Mechanic/Machine Operator

Dave Hodges - Mechanic/Machine Operator

Fitter welder by trade. Dave joined Linton's in July 2007. David does most of the servicing and maintenance of our gear as well as operating all of our heavy machines including the Terex scrapers when required.

Family and friends are a big part of Daves life and he likes to do trail rides and getting away for holidays in their motorhome.

 

Phil Conner - Machine Operator / Health and Safety Representative

Phil Conner - Machine Operator / Health and Safety Representative

Phil returned to Linton's in 2016 after working in Aussie for 7 years.

Phil has experience in bulk earthworks, mining underground, drill and blasting road tunnels.

Phil operates our scrapers and has around 10,000 hrs in these type of machines along with operating other plant as required.

Phil enjoy's riding his Harley Davidson and working on motorcyles. 

David Sellwood - Truck Driver / Machine Operator

David Sellwood - Truck Driver / Machine Operator

Dave lives in Winton with his wife Katie, daughter Sophia and their two Fox Terriers, Rocket and Taz, and joined the team at Linton's in Sept 2019. Prior to this Dave was a farm manager and machine opertor.

Dave likes the opportunities Lintons have to offer with learning new skills and operating a variety of heavy machinery. 

Dave likes to keep busy and in his spare time is often off hunting, completing DIY, building/construction. 

He also enjoys spending time with his family and friends in Manapouri.

Jono Allan - Truck Driver / Machine Operator

Jono Allan - Truck Driver / Machine Operator

Jono started his career in the Drainage Industry as a labourer, then moving onto to be an Excavator Operator / Truck Driver.

Jono  has experience in all types of excavation and earthmoving.

In his spare time he enjoys spending time with his family, mates and motorbike riding with his son.

 

Peter Jardine - Casual Truck Driver

Peter Jardine - Casual Truck Driver

Peter has over 50 years Heavy Vehicle Operating experience. Prior to joining Lintons Peter worked for McDowall Transport for 45 years starting out as a stock and bulk truck driver.

Peter likes to keep busy and  after a couple of months from retiring from McDowalls, he decided that was enough of that and joined the team here at Linton Contracting Ltd in Nov 2017 as a Casual Truck Driver.

In his spare time Peter enjoys spending time with his family.
